Yes, remember the "Lights for Liberty" protests fondly, but like you said, it did not make much of a difference. It is still hard to believe that the majority of the population can't fight against the 1% of the super wealthy. That is why we desperately need to take money out of politics and get everyone (Democrats, Republican and everyone in between) to believe they are just as worthy as the super rich, that they are just as talented and deserving of a good and prosperous life. We must make everyone realize that it is the consumer and the employee that make and keep the wealthy rich and that the wealthy would be nothing without the consumer and the employee. We must remind everyone that the super wealthy only care about growing and keeping their wealth and power; they care nothing about the rest of the population. We must put these thoughts front and center in every profession and every institution in America. These are not hard concepts. We must STOP fighting one another because that is exactly what the wealthy want us to do so they can control us. How is it that people don't get this and want to simply fight over ideology - it is INSANITY. I always ask people to tell me what a millionaire and billionaire have ever done for them personally, and why they think they should hold public office. I wish we could legislate that no millionaire or billionaire can run for public office; but we can't get legislation like this passed while they still have a stranglehold on politics.
