Hey friends. We’ve got three days left until the midterms, and I thought I’d just post a note today to say “I see you.”
I’ve been canvassing, amplifying events, doing everything I can to get out the vote within the constraints of my daily life, and I know you have too.
And yet, in the last few days, despite everything I’ve done over the past few years (and a lifetime), I’ve felt guilty about whether I’ve done enough during this election cycle. Guilty for not doing more. Guilty for not canvassing more often. Guilty for not text banking while making dinner for my kids. Guilty about having a soccer tournament for my son the weekend before Election Day. Guilty.
Why? Because we’re at that point in the election cycle (and in America) where every last ounce of work could be the difference between saving democracy and losing it forever.
So I thought I’d just drop in here quickly to say to all of you: please keep going. Don’t beat yourself up, but please keep going.
We’ve got three days left. Let’s leave it all on the field.
And if for some reason you too are feeling guilty, you can always pick up one more shift for a candidate or a cause you care about at mobilize.us.
Let’s get it done, all the way to the wall, until the polls close. WE are the difference between a better future and the end of democracy as we know it.
I see you. Thank you for all the effort.
And for what it’s worth: I do believe we’ve got this.
Thank you so much for this. The "not enough" thoughts were exactly on my mind this morning, especially after my partner and I talked about Call Jane this morning over coffee. Keep going. Keep going. We've got this. Keep rallying to get out the vote. Thank you, Elizabeth.
I’m phone banking and text banking for my local Democratic Party here in Union County NC. Sadly it’s red here, but we are making small gains with every election. Does anyone have ideas on how to reach citizens that are not registered to vote. There are so many across our country. These are the individuals we need to connect with. We need to inspire them to use their right to vote. We need hope!
