I call for a general strike. Shut everything we can down until gun reform is enacted. Don't wait for elections. Provide for those who will need aid for food and shelter. Walk out. Fill the streets; not a parade, an affirmation of life over money and power. NOW! This is our opportunity to begin the creation of the communities we dream of. We cannot stop the economy without helping those who would suffer from losing work. We can join together and stop the slaughter of innocents...

In this we are a clear, clear majority.

I think we're way too divided for a general strike to happen any time soon.

my understanding is that 90% of us (across party lines) want Background checks; at least 68% want to ban assault weapons. I don't know what numbers it would take to shake things up, but there can be no better unifying cause than protection of our children. "They" want us to feel powerless. I don't think it's true...yet...unless we believe that ourselves. I've never been more fired up than I am today.

For one thing, this isn't a democracy. It's become an oligarchy. In a democracy what a majority wants would matter to elected officials. As it stands, a solid majority wants a number of things and we're ignored. For one example, a solid majority also wants Medicare for All but even if it got to his desk Biden says he'll veto it because of the cost desptie the fact that it's been shown to pay for itself. It's heresy to state this but corporate cash corrupts both parties although regarding different issues.

I know some people don't like when the truth is pointed out to them. Many do ugly things. I always prefer the truth. I found you 5 yrs ago on a friends suggestion. I was devastated & looking for explanations & support. You gave more than that. You helped me hold onto my hope, which I've always had. You explained how to. I agree w/Helaine from earlier. She is more articulate than I am. I never expected you to make me feel better. Only provide answers, which you continue to do. Some things make more sense & I don't feel so lost. Although lately it has been harder in every way for me. Like others. Plus I have COPD, live alone, had to retire w/ no car. I got my 2nd booster & am Covid free. Don't know anyone who has died. Other than the virus my life hasn't changed since 2013. I actually feel survivor guilt. Grateful tho. Also, I feel enlightened re legal issues thanks to you. Thank you. Much love & respect.
