The Nazis did not run the Nuremberg trials. Big difference now.

Truman appointed Associate Supreme Court Justice Robert H Jackson to be the chief prosecutor.

Given what Trump has done to the Joint Chiefs and Bondi in DOJ, not following illegal orders will not be a colorable defense. It has been cooked into the pie.

The Supreme Court doesn't try anyone, and it's anyone's guess in any event what the Supreme Court will look like when this is all over.

The Nuremberg trials were an extrajudicial body set up for a specific purpose on top of it. We may need something similar.

Agree but can see the Court trying to take it in their original jurisdiction- a stretch I know but they seem to recognize no bounds. Could appoint a special master effectively to do the trial, make findings, and submit a report. Special masters are appointed in water rights cases between the states routinely.

Thank you Elizabeth for laying this all out. We are in a terrible mess. I keep making calls to my reps and senators but they seem to fall on deaf ears. You may think I am wrong but when do we talk about treason? They are shredding our constitution and doing everything they can to destroy this country and its people. I fear for the future of our little ones. What kind of world are we leaving them?

The most effective calls describe how you are personally being impacted or your loved ones and community are being impacted. Keep calling.

So where was Tr…p at the time of this Cabinet meeting, golfing at mar-a-lago? And has it been decided by all that the Felon’s ceded his authority to EM?

But this from your post today: “… as actual cabinet members with some basis for their experience (like Marco Rubio) squirmed like boiling frogs for 50+ straight minutes of monologue,” had me envisioning these grown assed MAGA men obediently sitting as EM blathered on. I was able to momentarily chuckle.

Thank you for a bit of levity amid the summarized madness.

As usual, tapping the collective anger of the American psyche for their incompetence. Powderkeg is a good way to describe our country righr now. And after watching the obscene meeting between 47, vp and President Zelensky, I'm ashamed and embarrassed to be an American. Absolutely disgraceful!!
