Maybe we have to define for ourselves what winning is, too; whether it's "gold medal" or "personal best." Not let the Olympics judges or the gym teacher or anybody else define it for us.
Great essay. I am disturbed you have been mistreated. I am fortunate because I wasn't raised to act or think like the ways described. I've always believed in personal freedom. Some ppl didn't know what to think of me. I accepted them as they were & expected the same in return. And keep your own power.
