Unsurprisingly the "think tanks" out there that provide consulting services to huge corporations wrt "how the world will look" into the future are already predicting (and advising their clients to plan accordingly) that the USA will split up. Sadly I agree with them for the points you outline...and I think the main point (as you brought up) is that if certain states feel that the constitution is being used as a tool of repression rather than as a means of bringing states together "in a more perfect union", then the reasoning, the very essence, for having the constitution in the first place evaporates, and you're left with certain states that simply refuse to be bound by it.....and this means going it alone under their own state constitution. Once the US breaks apart, you will find the red states becoming a place where there are just primary industries (farming, poultry, pork & beef production, some fishing for those states bordering the ocean, some mining and some logging). And in these states life will go backwards to how it was in the US before civil rights (pre 1964). The standard of living for everyone in the red states will fall because once the blue states succeed, the federal govt will not be able to support them (they take out more than what they put in in aggregate). Sadly, once the US breaks apart the existing US-dollar will crash, forcing the blue states to launch their own currency...and it will ultimately hold its own as the blue states will attract high tech, financial services and manufacturing industries requiring an educated workforce. Whether or not the red states hold onto the collapsed legacy "US-dollar", or they launch their own currency is effectively mute because whatever they do their currency will be weak...and this will be one of the reasons why the standard of living in the red states will decline in a significant way....but hey!!!, in the red states being "white" will mean you're on top!!!! (even if it means only being on top of crap)....and anyone who tries to mess with white supremacy will be subject to state sponsored terror. This is why once the US break apart many people in the blue states who are not white will leave, and this will exasperate the decline of living in the blue states. Oh the irony!!!!...the very states that should be supporting "the union" are the very ones that want to tear it apart...and the driving force all gets back to irrational hatreds fueled by poorly educated white people who have no clue what they are doing. RIP America....a once mighty nation that became a casualty of it's own irrational hatreds and proud ignorance. Covid is a recent example of how divided America is. In the past America came together to fight pandemics and epidemics......the fight against new killer viruses was not politicized...communities came together to bring things to a close. America is now a place where the GOP has proudly used covid as a weapon in their culture wars....it's as if the GOP has been taken over by the old KGB who's mission was to divide America during the cold war.

I’m in a red state and have a son and daughter, both under the age of 10. I’m extremely concerned and my husband refuses to seriously consider leaving. If it gets worse I’ll have to go no matter what for my and my children’s safety.
