Thank you, you eloquently put into words exactly what I have been feeling. Perhaps it all needs to burn down and we emerge from the ashes.

Exactly what I’ve been feeling. The downfall is picking up speed and from so many different directions it’s hard to get a handle on it to atleast try to understand it. I find myself thankful my youngest daughter is now a permanent resident of Australia has a great job there and no plans to come back here.

Brilliant. I'm sharing this. I agree with you 100%.

The Jan. 6 insurrectionists are not getting away with it. Many have already been sentenced although I admit it's a slow process. The Democrats celebrating face mask removal on public transportation is concerning. I don't know all their reasons although I do know, as a person with underlying health conditions, that it's been my responsibility during this pandemic to protect myself. I wear an N95.

Regarding the babies who can't wear a good mask, I am quite concerned although I think that by reminding those Democrats who celebrated about those babies a good portion of them will also be concerned.

I lost a beloved niece( 37 and fully vaccinated) she had hypertension- and just like that we were laid low. Ripping the masks off is an assault on our love and care for each other. I share so many of the words you wrote- thank you.

Gratitude for insisting we see and acknowledge the fire. Tears when you ended with "bringing the rain" as I remembered that powerful story from your book. I want you to be wrong, but I know that comes from not wanting to acknowledge reality because it is so damn scary.

As a parent to one of those little unmaskable babies, I feel this deeply. In the U.K. they gave up on masking weeks ago and the opposition party barely shrugged. There was hardly even an outcry as those of us who see the danger are without influence. When you wrote that we need to do what we can to protect our kids from this future, that really resonates and would love to see you expand on that one day.

You are right, as you so often are. You put into words the dread that’s been giving me heartburn and keeping me up at night.

And the image that comes immediately to mind is the Tarot card, the Tower.

The burning of old structures is sometimes necessary to make way for regeneration, for something new (or at least new here) to emerge.

As a mother of two disabled young adults I watched the families fleeing Ukraine in the past weeks with horror. If that kind of violence erupts in our land there will be no way I could flee with my kids in their wheelchairs. Without the chairs there’d be no chance at all.

Watching the coverage of the atrocities in the Kiev suburb of Bucha, I have tried to imagine them taking place in Falls Church or Alexandria, Va.

Anyway. We live in interesting times. May we live to see better days.

I so feel this. I feel this in my chest. A dull rage that then mutes to depression. Why are we so delusional? Why?

Nailed it!

White supremacy is the biggest con. This here is what resonates with me: "It dehumanizes for the sake of maintaining institutions that allow a tiny fragment of society to rule over everyone else with enormous, extracted wealth from the labor of the many"

And this is true for our Democratic leaders as well. Not all but many. Prime example ..why don't they stop the practice of allowing legislators from owning stock options? Is there not a conflict of interest? Why because they benefit by keeping the institutions status quo for them. It's despicable.

There's an uprising coming in the world, I feel it. Back in 1992 I recall being asked by a friend how long our society can live this way. I said collapse will start in 25-50 years. Sadly it's coming to fruition. Rome fell too. Climate change is speeding it up. The inequality in the world can't be sustained and the multinational corporate leaders know it so they are doing whatever they can to maintain their power over us. They don't give a shit about climate change and screw us.

What's missing in the Dems is their moral outrage in Congress, in pressers. It ticks me off how calmly they speak like they're having a conversation over tea. I want to hear real anger when they speak. They are far too passive. Why. Again they benefit from keeping the institutions status quo. If they're smart they'll catch on to the winds of change where people are thirsty for people standing up for democracy, equality!

I recall you said early on in 2017 on one of your fb broadcasts " maybe it needs to all burn down"

Maybe it does...and we will rebuild it.

You are a force to be reckoned with. I would so love it to have your voice, your passion ring out across your nation. You ARE making a difference. You have for me in my world.

Imagine if every local council, every state legislature, heck if the highest office had someone like you! Thank you! Keep speaking out! You're reaching many.

Thank you ECM for bringing the terrifying urgency to this wildfire of our political landscape. We want to look away. Or we want to fight. Either way the fear is immobilizing. Like you stated in your broadcast, we will continue to fight. The despair is mounting though. I fear the half heartedness in our efforts due to the exhaustion, frustration. Terrifying times indeed.
